Pen, sepia ink and brush wash on paper. Adhered to a second support in laid paper. Filigree with unidentified tower on the left side. This work is a magnificent example of Jose Camaron's production on paper. The painter frequently represented this type of traditional scenes with a festive tone starring “damsels, masks and figures of grace, grace and graceful composition.” Evocative of the French Rococo, in the manner of Watteau, the dances and love affairs of these characters Spanishized as majos and majas, develop their actions in the middle of a landscape, with no other pretensions than to show the viewer a pleasant and decorative scene.
