INDO-PORTUGUESE SCHOOL (18th - 19th century) "The Good Shepherd"

Carved ivory This iconography is typical of Goa. The Child Jesus as the Good Shepherd is seated on a mountain from which a fountain flows, an allegory of the fountain of Life or of Redemption. In the lower register, Mary Magdalene, lying in a cave, reads and meditates. It has small flaws. This work has a valid CITES certificate with nº ES-MT 50917/24C issued in 2024.
