Box with marquetry work Spain 18th century.

Top lid with representation of an allegory of Spain with Peace and Justice, in a tondo decorated with panoplies and flowers, and the figures of Mercury and Fame. Front, sides and back, with landscape scenes inspired by French models by Claude Joseph Vernet. Inside, two reserves with hunting scenes and a central vase with flowers. Lock with period keys, one of them with the Royal Coat of Arms. Work close, due to its great quality, to those made in the Royal Cabinetmaking Workshop, founded in 1764, and to the production of Medardo Arnold (c.1800), of whom a "abattant" secretaire with similar characteristics is preserved in the Museum of Decorative Arts (Inv. No. CE19354). Measurements: 23 x 50.5 x 40 cm.
