Lot 304

Tea set in hard paste porcelain, Empire style, early 19th c

It could possibly be a piece made in the last years of the Buen Retiro Factory (1803-1808), with great influence from the French trends, or the first years of the Moncloa Factory (1817-1821). No marks. It consists of a teapot, milk jug, sugar bowl with lid and attached ring handles, two "litron" cups with their plates and an oval tray. Each of the pieces is decorated with everyday scenes from the period, with characters in landscapes. Gilded background in burnished gold leaf, very high quality. Restored jug and restorations and wear on the gilding. Overall measurements: 16 x 47 x 41 cm.
