Oil on canvas. Signed. Provenance: Barcelona, ​​Gustavo Crochet collection (before 1938). Aert Schouman was a versatile Dutch artist who devoted himself to painting and engraving, practising various genres such as biblical themes or mythologies, natural history studies and still lifes. Among his most appreciated works are these types of compositions, with beautiful landscapes populated by birds. This one was copied by Gustavo Cochet in 1938 on commission from Eirik Labonne, French ambassador to Spain. Another canvas from the same series, dated 1759, was presented on the London market in 2016. Measurements: 142.5 x 98.3 cm.
