ANONYMOUS (19th century) "The Battle of Ayacucho", c. 1824

Ink and watercolor on paper (3) Important unpublished historical document consisting of three plans made by hand by the Spanish army explaining day by day, from December 3 to December 9, 1824, the movements of the Spanish army and the Peruvian troops and the places where they clashed, culminating in the Aguacucho field. The battle held there was the last land confrontation within the so-called Spanish-American wars of independence in South America (1809-1826) and meant the consolidation of the independence of the Republic of Peru.
