CASTILIAN SCHOOL (16th century) "Four apostles"

Carved, gilded, upholstered and polychrome wood Four reliefs possibly belonging to a field altar or a private cult altar. Each of the tablets is divided into three sections. The lower and larger one represents an apostle, above this one, a tondo in which each of the four evangelists is represented and, above these, a cherub. Despite their small format, they have quality both in the carving and in the polychromy and reflect the influence of the work of Alonso de Berruguete. They have defects and old marks of xylophages. Measurements: 35 x 9 cm
