Oil on copper This delicate copper depicts the Virgin of Guadalupe, patron saint of Mexico and "Empress of the Americas", an extremely popular iconography that was tirelessly repeated by Mexican painters, although it was probably Miguel Cabrera (1695-1768) who made the highest quality representations, especially in copper, very close to this work.
