JAN VAN OS Middelharnis (1744) / The Hague (1808) "House by the lake"

Oil on canvas Signed in the lower center. Painter of portraits, seascapes, still lifes and flowers. Pupil of Art Schoumann. In 1773 he was in the Confraternity of The Hague. In this work he follows models of Dutch painters of the 18th century such as Van de Velda. His exceptional quality as a draughtsman can be appreciated, representing in the details of the figures and the still life in the foreground, elaborated with great precision. Also noteworthy is the study of light and the atmospheric effect. Measurements: 71 x 91 cm
