LUIGI DESIO (Italy, 18th century) "Trompe l'oeil with allusions to the arts"

Oil on canvas. The works of this painter, who is believed to have been active in Naples in the circle of Solimena (1657-1747), always repeat a similar iconography, alluding to different artistic genres, through the representation of backgrounds with walls full of loose and worn engravings, sketches, theatre masks, madrigals and musical scores that had their heyday in the academies of the 17th and 18th centuries. Measurements: 103 x 155 cm.
