The Nupé or Nuppe, traditionally called Tapa by their Yoruba neighbours, are an ethnic group located mainly in central and northern Nigeria. Many Nupé often have tribal scars on their faces (similar to Yoruba), some to identify their prestige and the family they belong to, as well as for protection.
